How I can know what kind of wood floor of my house?

I bought my house last year and has original wood floors. The house was built in the 1950 and I am near Atlanta, GA. The soil is light brown and no shine them. Does that mean they are not waterproof? I have read several articles on how to clean, but recommend different techniques against seal sealed floors. How do I know if mine are sealed?

Wooden Floors were sealed, probably when the house was built, but the sealing areas fade with time. Even if you did a water test that can find the soil is different in another area. I just want to treat the soil as if it is open. Of course, you can get sanded and resealed if desired. To wash, but now is sufficient to use a bucket of hot water and liquid detergent.
