How to Choose Wood Floor Colors
There is no question that Hardwood Floors are durable, beautiful, and much sought after. Homes that have hardwood floors are often worth more than homes that have just laminate floors. Hardwood floors are capable of lasting sometimes more than a hundred years if they are cared for properly, and are a wonderful investment if you want to make sure that your home is warm, inviting, and beautiful. There are also a variety of wood floor colors that you can choose from.
When choosing wood floor colors, you have to make sure that you select a color that goes with your decor, and that will still look good if your tastes change later on. You need to go ahead and get the rooms measured that you want to install the wood floor in. Get a couple of installers to give you estimates so you have an idea of what you are looking at in terms of costs, and then decide on your budget. Your budget will decide what kinds of hardwood floors you can afford. This may seem unimportant when choosing wood floor colors, but some floors aren’t available for you if you can’t afford them. The underlying grain, natural color of the wood, and other specifics affect the price so if you can’t afford something as expensive as an exotic cherry, you’ll have to consider other colors that will work in your home.
If you can, bring samples of the decor and color of the furniture with you. You can bring a pillow or pictures, strips that show paint color, or whatever you want. Furniture often is stained wood, and you want to make sure that the colors will go well with the new wood floor colors. Certain wood floors, such as oak, often will go well with anything and even if your decor changes, still will go well with whatever you put in your home. Other woods, such as cherry, only will go very well with certain decor styles. Compare the samples you bring with the wood floor colors that are pretty to you. You will usually see that one or two colors will stand out and look better than the others right away.
